Dating... Who, When, Where, Why and How?

Hey Everyone, we made it through Valentine's Day, yayyy! Hopefully unscathed or at least with fewer bruises than last year, right? And look... you are still here! I'm still here and we look great! Onward...

I have been bombarded with questions from men and women about dating after 50 years old. Who can I date? When do I know that I am ready to date? Where do I go to find a date? Why should I date? How does this dating thing work over 50?

How many single folks out there stay home alone when your friends are out having fun? How many attend parties or events with your married friends?  Are you usually the third or fifth or ninth wheel? Yes, same here but I refuse to settle and just date anyone for the sake of dating.  To be honest, sometimes, that is not such a bad idea, if you are on the quest to date as many people as you can to get the experience.

There is a relationship expert, Docta G Davis, who set out a dating challenge last year.  I think it was 30 dates in 60 days, or 10 dates in 20 days. Hell, I could not even get to the first date.  How do we find these men to date? Or better yet, how do they find us? Sports Bars? Grocery Stores? Online?

Many dating sites that I have frequented seem more like social media sites.  I see the same men over and over again.  I want to say goodness, you are still on here after all of these years?  But, heck, so am I.  I figured, if we were attracted, we would have dated by now.... Moving on!

So what are we going to do about this dating issue or lack there of? Should we host another Speed Dating event for the 50 Plus group?  What if we want to date younger?  Should we include those in their 40's?  I say yes! Perhaps a Singles Meet and Greet? One of my facebook friends suggested a "Guy Friend Party".  this is a great event when all of your girlfriends bring their best single guy friends to meet and greet. I love it!

Tell me what you think. I'd love to hear your ideas.  Talk to you soon!
